State of Alaska COVID-19 guidance

COVID-19 Information

Help us fight the spread of COVID-19 by:

  1. Practice Good Hygiene

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, practice good hygiene, and cover any cough or sneeze. Don’t touch your face with unwashed hands.

  2. Practice Social Distancing

When you have to leave home, keep a minimum of six feet away from others at all times.

  3. Wear a Mask

The state does not require the use of masks by the public, however health and science experts recommended that you wear a mask in public wherever social distancing is challenging.

  4. Get Tested If You Are Sick

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, isolate yourself from others and call a provider to get tested. If you require medical attention, call your doctor before going in.

Good hygiene is extremely important

Wash you hands: Every single day, keep washing those hands! Do it often and do it well. Wash your hands any time you touch things others might have touched. Take 20 seconds and wash thoroughly with soap and warm water. And remember: don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue you throw away after use or use the inside of your elbow if you don’t have a tissue handy.

Don’t touch your face: You’ve heard it a lot by now – don’t touch your face! You might find it harder than you think but keep trying. While we’re all still working to break that habit, don’t forget about those everyday items that touch our faces, such as our cell phones.
